However, his time at the army is short-lived as Peebles gives him away to a football coach who recruits him as a fullback in the Pennsyltucky Lions team against the Wabash Cannonballs.

Magilla's adventures don't end there. He is often pursued by Whimple Dimple, a hunter intent on capturing the gorilla for his taxidermy collection. Despite his mischievous nature, Magilla always manages to escape and find himself in new and exciting situations.

Throughout the cartoon, Magilla can be seen sporting human accessories such as a purple bow tie, red shorts held up by green suspenders, a purple undersized derby hat, and brown dress shoes. His catchphrase 'We'll try again next week' has become iconic, leaving fans eagerly anticipating what new adventures Magilla will get himself into.
